About our Hygienists
Heather VanVorhis, RDH
Heather has been a registered dental hygienist for almost 25 years, and 17 of those years have been with the team at Schumacher & Bauer, DDS. She’s even had the chance to work with some of her patients throughout her entire career! Heather says that while there are hundreds of dental offices to choose from in Columbus, making Schumacher & Bauer the best dental office in Columbus is her number one goal. No matter a patient’s walk of life, treating everyone with respect and kindness is her ambition and she values every patient who walks through their doors.
Life is a journey and while a patient’s oral health is Heather’s top priority, listening to their life stories has taught her so much. Heather’s patients’ stories have helped in her own life journey, and she couldn’t be more grateful.
"Fun fact: I secretly want to be a taste testing judge on a cooking show. I’m a terrible chef but love to eat good food! I would definitely qualify for the show Worst Cooks in America!!!"

Jake Hanley, RDH
Jake was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and has been working at Schumacher & Bauer for nearly eight years. You can expect lots of laughs and healthy smiles in Jake’s chair. His approach is gentle and caring with a side of sass and humor. When he isn’t working, he is traveling, selling real estate and snapping photos.
"Armed with a scaler and a sense of humor, I'm pretty good at making people smile without the need for a drill, and I’ll clean your teeth so well, you’ll wonder if I’m secretly an angel sent from the dental heavens. (Spoiler: I AM!)”
Nadia Boggs-Trevino, RDH, EFDA
Nadia is from New Lexington, Ohio. She moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene. While pursuing her degree she obtained her certification in EFDA. In Nadia’s free time she enjoys coaching and playing volleyball as well as spending time with her family and friends.
“I love educating my patients on their oral health and helping them feel confident about their smile. Having the knowledge in both Dental Hygiene and EFDA allows me to provide patients with the most comprehensive care."

Faith Reed, RDH
Faith is from a small town in Ohio, but has decided to make Columbus her home. Faith pursued her Dental Hygiene degree at Columbus State Community College. In Faith’s free time she enjoys spending time with family, finding new microbreweries and restaurants to try, and traveling with friends.
“As a hygienist, I pride myself on giving people the ability to feel confident and comfortable while smiling! To quote Mallory Hopkins, 'Life is short. Smile while you have teeth!'"
Mya Sandiford, RDH
Mya, a native of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, has always had a positive relationship with dentistry as she enjoyed visits to the dentist throughout her childhood. Inspired by these experiences, she is passionate about ensuring that her patients feel comfortable and well cared for. Mya earned her Dental Hygiene degree in June 2023 and is excited to further her education by pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in the field. Outside of her professional life, she values spending quality time with family and friends, and she loves traveling to explore new places and cultures.
“I take pride in making my patients feel comfortable at the dentist—because let’s face it, nobody’s excited about the chair and those weird tools! The best part is when they leave with a smile so confident, they’re practically showing it off in every selfie.”
