This holiday season why not give the gift of good dental health when you stuff your loved ones’ stockings?
We’ve got a few suggestions on how you can share some small items that can make a big difference with these dental stocking stuffers.
Electric toothbrushes
According to the American Dental Association (ADA) both manual and electric toothbrushes are effective at removing oral plaque that can lead to decay and disease.
But some studies show that electric toothbrushes are more effective at removing plaque than manual toothbrushes. And electric toothbrushes are great for people who may have limited mobility due to arthritis or other conditions. Plus they often create less waste than manual toothbrushes.
Tongue scrapers
Even if you regularly brush and floss like a dental health all star, it’s likely you’re still missing some of the bacteria on your tongue. Some of the bacteria on your tongue is good bacteria, but others can lead to bad breath, tooth decay and gum infections.
Tongue scrapers are typically around $10, and they can remove the bad bacteria more effectively than simply just brushing your tongue. So consider adding tongue scrapers to your shopping list for dental stocking stuffers this holiday season.
Silly toothpaste flavors
A tube of fun toothpaste in their stockings can get your loved ones excited to brush regularly. This list from Bustle includes a handful of toothpastes to try that come in different flavors such as strawberry, chocolate and citrus.
Travel toothbrushes
Get your family excited to hit the road again with some compact but effective travel toothbrushes. Plenty of inexpensive options are on the market that make sure that you don’t forget to bring your brush the next time you head to the beach.
Fun flossers
Whatever makes flossing easier and more fun is always a stocking stuffer hit! Children especially benefit from the ease of using fun flossers since their small hands often struggle with regular dental floss.
